Mary H. "Peggy" Clemons

1940-2012 Mary H. "Peggy" Clemons, 72, a resident of Main St. in Bennington, Vt., died Monday December 31, 2012 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

She was born in South Londonderry, Vt., April 5, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Pascal Earl Wilkins and Maxine Elliot (Penny) Wilkins. Mary was educated in the Londonderry and Bennington schools.

On January 12, 1957 she married Warren Walter Clemons. Mr. Clemons died July 20, 1987. She later was engaged to George "Sonny" Pacher. Mr. Pacher died April 14, 2006.

Mary was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing and dancing under the tent with Sonny. She also enjoyed watching soap operas, puzzle books and crocheting. Her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her main interest.

Survivors include her children, Brenda Cornell Keen and George of Shaftsbury, Vt., Donna Jones of Bennington, Mona Brown and Wayne of Stephentown, N.Y., Winn Clemons and Tracy of Bennington, Wanda Leddick and George of Vt., Terry Poole and Robert of Maine, Eric Pacher and Dawn, Joel Pacher and Donna, Angie Brace and Dion, Kathy Mayer and Tim and April Pacher Hunt all of Bennington and Sandra Smith and Chuck of Chester, Vt.; Twenty two grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; A brother Pascal Wilkins of South Londonderry, Vt., and a sister Sandra Prenezi of Plano, Texas, a nephew Andrew Rockwell of North Bennington and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was pre-deceased by a brother Ronald Wilkins and a sister Lillian Cook.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday January 10, 2013 at 11 a.m.

The entombment will take place in Park Lawn Chapel with the burial to be in Park Lawn Cemetery in the spring.
