Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Mary E. Walsh were held Friday, March 4, 2005, at Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church where the liturgy of Christian death and burial was concelebrated by the Rev. Vincent Coppola, csc, associate pastor of Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church, and the Rev. Andre Houle, pastor of Saint Peters Catholic Church in Rutland.

Upon arrival at the church, the pall was placed on the casket by Mary’s children Michael, Robert, Patricia and Peter. A wooden cross was then placed on the casket by Mary’s husband Michael G. Walsh. The Old Testament reading was offered by Mary’s sister Marion Bailey. The New Testament reading was offered by Mary Morrissey. The eucharistic gifts were presented by four grandchildren Nolen, Avery, Corbin and Michael. A eulogy was offered by Mary’s son Michael.

The organist was Donald McMahon and the soloist was Monica Murray. Hymns offered during the mass were “Amazing Grace,” “Here I am Lord,” “Ave Maria,” “On Eagles’ Wings” and “Danny Boy.” Following communion, a special song was played, “To Where You Are” by Josh Groban.

Acolytes were Leonard Anzivino, Bernard Bourgeois, Francis Sausville and James Kempf.

Pallbearers for the service were James McGurk, John Bailey, Daniel Ayers, Larry Klein, David Gale and James Woodman.

A reception followed the Mass at the Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Parish Center.

Thursday evening the Wake Service was offered by the Rev. Vincent at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mary E. Walsh, a resident of Austin Hill Road in Bennington, passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at her residence.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington.
