GLASTONBURY, Conn -- Mary Elizabeth (Greene) Skinner Hazen, widow of Henry H. Hazen of Salem, Mass., and Laurel Gardens of Glastonbury, passed peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at Marlborough Health Care Center.

Born in Swampscott, Mass., on Feb. 20, 1914, she was the daughter of Edgar Wilson Greene and Maude (Case) Greene. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Allen F. Skinner, and a son, Richard Greene Skinner. She is survived by a daughter, Ann S. Larson, and husband Fred, of Glastonbury, and a son, John E. Skinner, and wife Dhyan of Arlington, Vt. Also grandchildren, Pamela Larson of Jamaica Plain, Mass., Sara Musto and her husband John of West Hartford, Erin Skinner of Sunderland, Vt., Chad Skinner of Sunderland, Gregory Skinner and wife Maria of Collinsville, Sandra Green and husband David of Ashland, Mass., and eight great-grandchildrea.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. James Church, Main Street, Glastonbury. Burial will be private. Mary’s family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff of Marlborough Health Care, hospice staff of CTVNA Masonicare and Laurel Gardens of Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CT VNA Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Founders Plaza, East Hartford, CT 06108, or to the American Cancer Society, Meriden Executive Park, 538 Preston Ave., Meriden, CT 06450-1004. The Glastonbury Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
