Mary Ellen Moore Faszholz 1934 - 2009 DORSET Mary Ellen Moore Faszholz, a former school teacher, has died. She was diagnosed five years ago as having Alzheimer's and in Oct., 2008, fell and damaged her neck. Complications developed and she died, Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009. Mary Ellen was born in Waterbury, Conn., Aug. 16, 1934 to the late John and Mary Mulhern Moore. She attended Waterbury Catholic High School and New Britian State Teachers College. She taught in Madison and Wallingford, Conn., and in 1980 moved to Vermont, where she taught in West Rupert and Windham. After her retirement in 1994 she could usually be found on the Dorset Field Club tennis courts or golf course. A bit of the winter was spent at the "casita" on Rincon Bay in the Dominican Republic. The last couple of years of her life she walked considerably along Route 30 in Dorset where friends, acquaintances, and strangers often give her "a lift" back to her home. (Thank you all) Mary Ellen leaves behind two sisters, Corrine O'Connor and Annette Magness, and their families; her husband of almost 30 years, Jim Faszholz, and his three daughters, Ann Mericka, Jenny Morris and Kaye Peltz and their families. She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Terrance. FUNERAL NOTICE: Memorial services celebrating the life of Mary Ellen Moore Falzholz will be held from the United Church of Dorset and East Rupert, 143 Church Street, Dorset on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Jordan Dickinson officiating. Burial will take place in the family lot in Maple Hill Cemetery, Dorset in the Spring. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Green Mountain Chapter, Alzheimer's Foundation through the office of the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
