Mary J. Franceschetti 1936-2010 READSBORO Mary June Franceschetti, 74, died peacefully at her home Thursday morning surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on June 1, 1936 in Readsboro, Vt., to the late Sylvia (Chesani) and Guido Moruzzi. She attended grade school in Readsboro and graduated from St. Joseph's High School in North Adams, Mass., Class of 1954. She married Reno A. Franceschetti at St. Joachim's Catholic Church, Readsboro, on October 25, 1958. Her beloved husband predeceased her on May 20, 1989. Mary was a lifelong resident of Readsboro and communicant of St. Joachim's Catholic Church where she was an active member of the St. Anne's Society. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 29. Mary was an active member of her community, spending several years as a store clerk at Mario's General Store and then as the Readsboro Town Clerk before her retirement. In addition, she held a variety of office positions throughout her life. Mary was happiest when spending time with her family and friends, working hard, and doing things to help others. She loved being with her children and grandchildren, playing cards, cooking, sewing and crafts, and truly enjoyed people. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed by all. She leaves one daughter, Lori Ann Hoyt and her husband, Keith Hoyt of Bennington, Vt., and two sons; Mark and wife, Kathleen of Charlotte, Vt., and Timothy and wife, Dawn of West Dover, Vt. She also leaves her brother James Moruzzi of Readsboro, Vt. who has been a great support. She leaves her grandchildren; Anna and Joseph of Charlotte, Vt., Anthony of West Dover, Vt., and Marcy and Jamie of Boston, Mass. Two sister-in-laws, Ermida and Ines Franceschetti of Readsboro predeceased her, and she leaves two others, Rose Franceschetti of Williamstown, Mass. and Leonilda Codogni of Virginia, nieces Judith Codogni of Williamstown, Mass., Denise Richardello of North Adams, Mass., and Joann Eldred of Virginia, one great-nephew and one great-great niece. Mary also leaves her many friends who have been a constant source of love and comfort to her. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Joachim's Catholic Church with calling hours prior to Mass beginning at 9 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory can be made to either the St. Anne Society c/o St. Joachim's Parish or the Patient Resource Fund at the Cancer Center at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247
