Mary M. Hatch

1924 - 2013 BENNINGTON, VT Mary M. Hatch, 88, widow of Harold H. Hatch, Sr., a longtime resident of Fillmore Street, died Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Born in Jackson, NY August 6, 1924, she was the daughter of George and Adelaide (Church) Peabody, Sr. She received her education in Cambridge, NY schools.

Mr. & Mrs. Hatch were married June 13, 1942. Mr. Hatch died April 25, 2006.

In earlier years, Mrs. Hatch was employed at the former Fairview Nursing Home in the dietary department. Mrs. Hatch was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of Circle 4 at the church. She was a former member of the American Legion Post 13 Auxiliary.

Survivors include three sons, Harold H. Hatch Jr. of Crystal River, FL, William F. Hatch, Sr. and Michael Hatch, both of Bennington; several grandchildren; many great grandchildren; two stepbrothers, Charles Peabody of California and Henry Peabody of Cambridge, NY.

Mrs. Hatch was predeceased by a son and daughter, Robert Cornelius Hatch, who died in infancy and Patricia O'Donnell who died February 20, 1993; as well as two brothers, Robert Peabody and George Peabody.

MEMORIAL NOTICE: At the request of Mrs. Hatch, no services will be held. Burial will take place in the family lot in Hinsdillville Cemetery, Bennington, at the convenience of the family.

If friends desire, contributions in memory of Mrs. Hatch may be made to either the Vermont Chapter of the or the Bennington Rescue Squad through the office of the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT.
