Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Miss Mary Jane Morin were held Thursday, June 8, 2006, from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church, where the Mass of resurrection was offered by the Rev. Vincent Coppola, associate pastor.

Organist was Louise Gauthier, and soloist was Monica Murray. Hymns offered during the service were “Mother Dear, Oh Pray For Me,” “Prayer of St. Francis,” “The Supper of the Lord,” “Ave Maria,” “Song of Farewell” and “Be Not Afraid.”

The funeral pall that covered Mary Jane’s casket was placed by her sisters, Rita Cole and Virginia Ayer. A family crucifix was then laid on the casket by James Cole, a nephew. The scriptural readings were offered by two nieces, Paula Lyons and Marie Ray. The offertory gifts were presented by Charles and Marie Ray and Susan Millington, a niece. Words of remembrance were given by a niece, Barbara Forbett. Acolytes were Leonard Anzivino, Edward Molloy, Bernard Bourgeois and Joseph Anton.

Bearers were six nephews, Eric Ayer, Ronald Gilbert, Richard Lyon, Raymond Morin and Thomas Morin. Honorary bearers from the St. Anne’s Society were Doris Bourgeois, Mary Lou Cox, Betty Marcoux, Ceil Potter, Betty Marcoux and Edith LeRay.

A prayer service at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home preceded the funeral Mass.

Wednesday afternoon the wake service was offered at the funeral home by the Rev. James Preskenis, pastor of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales church. Members of the St. Anne’s Society also offered the rosary in Mary Jane’s memory. Also conducting fraternal services were members of the Women of the Moose in Bennington.

Burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father Coppola offering the committal prayers. Following the funeral service, a reception was held at the Bennington Moose Lodge.

Miss Morin, a former resident of Park Street, died June 5, 2006, at the Centers For Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
