NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Mrs. Mary Jeannette (Bouffard) Morin Plumb, 80, of St. Joseph Court, North Adams, died Monday, April 19, 2004 at the North Adams Regional Hospital where she was admitted Tuesday, April 13, 2004 following a brief illness.

She was born in Lowell, Vt. on Nov. 15, 1923 a daughter of the late Archille Bouffard and Aurore (LeBlanc) Bouffard. The family resided in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada and she attended schools there. She moved to North Adams as a teenager.

Mrs. Plumb was employed with the Cornish Wire Company and its successor, General Cable Corp., in Williamstown for 42 years until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and a former communicant of Holy Family Church in North Adams. She also was a member of the Frank Stiles Post No. 125 American Legion Auxiliary in North Adams.

Her husband was Raymond Leslie Plumb, who died May 16, 1985. Her former husband was Leo J. Morin, who died in 1989.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Robert Hartwig of Charlton; a daughter, Ms. Kathleen Morin Perreault of Oxford; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Lee Morin of Bennington, Vt.; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Lambert of North Adams, Sr. Yvette Bouffard of Maine, Mrs. Alice Michel of Burlington, Vt.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Aileen Mazza of North Adams; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews.

She was predeceased by her sisters Reina Pepin, Mary Rose Bouffard and her brothers Henry Bouffard and Lionel Bouffard.

Funeral services for Mary Jeannette Plumb will take place Thursday, April 22 at 9:30 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a liturgy of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 610 State Road, North Adams, with the Rev. Daniel J. O’Hear, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, April 21, 2004 from 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the North Adams Ambulance Service through the funeral home.
