Mary K. Gallett 1945 - 2008 BENNINGTON Mary K. Gallett, 63, of School Street died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, following a long illness. Born in Troy, N.Y., on March 30, 1945, daughter of Charlotte L. Bull Giles and the stepdaughter of the late Jesse Giles, Mary had attended local schools and was a graduate of Bennington Catholic High School in the Class of 1963. Following graduation, her first job was working for New England Telephone Company. Mary had also been employed at Trebor Knitting Mills, Mace, Stanley Tools, and Generations Day Care. She was very family oriented, and her family came first with everything she did and anyone she talked with. An avid animal lover, she was especially fond of cats. Mary enjoyed playing table games, like Yahtzee and Bingo, and spending time on her computer. Besides her mother, of Bennington, she leaves two children: a son, Aaron Gallett and his companion, Valene Woodard, both of North Bennington, and her daughter, Jessica L. Gallett and her fiancé, Ernest Tifft, both of Bennington; four grandchildren, Jordan Reynolds, McKaleigh Reynolds, Cobie Gallett and Brielle Tifft, all of Bennington; one brother and sister-in-law, James F. King and his wife, Mary of Bennington; one sister, Kathleen Gallett of Shaftsbury, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and great-nieces and great-nephews. Mary was predeceased by two sisters, Theresa King and Christine Cornish. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 2p.m. at the MAHAR and SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main St. Interment will follow in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 until the time of the services.
