Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Mary Louise Remington were held from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church where the Mass of resurrection was offered by the Rev. James Preskenis, pastor.

Organist was Donald McMahon and the soloist was Monica Murray. Musical selections offered during the Mass were “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art,” “On Eagles’ Wings” and “Just a Closer Walk with Thee.”

The pall was placed on the casket by Mrs. Remington’s grand-daughters, Shannon Marie Remington, Brooke Anne Remington, Chelsea Katherine Remington and Kate Remington. A wooden cross was then placed on the casket by Mrs. Remington’s daughter, Nancy Roberts. The scriptural readings were offered by a son, H. Glenn Remington III, and Nancy Roberts. The offertory gifts were presented by Mrs. Remington’s two sons, Christopher and David Remington, and her daughter, Nancy. A eulogy was offered by H. Glenn Remington III.

Bearers were four grandsons, Christopher J. Remington Jr., Nicholas Remington, Jayman Remington and Stephen Noyes.

Serving as acolytes were Edward Molloy, Leonard Anzivino, Joseph Anton and John Reed.

A reception followed the Mass at the Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Parish Center.

Monday evening Father Preskenis offered the wake service at the funeral home. Prior to the Mass, a prayer service was offered at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mary Louise Remington, 81, a former longtime resident of Washington Avenue in Bennington, died Dec. 7, 2005, in St. Albans. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
