Mary Welch Pratt 1919-2011 BENNINGTON, VT Mary Welch Pratt, 92, a resident of School Street in Bennington, passed away Tuesday November 8, 2011 at Crescent Manor Care Center in Bennington. Mary was born in Bennington on March 23, 1919 the daughter of James W. and Rose (Stratton) Welch and attended Bennington schools. Mary worked as a Nurses Aide for many years. She was a former member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Bennington and a member of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Bennington. Mary enjoyed vegetable gardening and listening to Country Western music. She loved her home and cherished times spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary is survived by her children; Bettylou Harwood and her fiance Herbert Eastman of Bennington, Debra Pratt-Peckham of Farmington, N.H., and Barbara Pratt of Bennington, her grandchildren Kevin Blair of Bennington, Tammy Fann and her husband Kenny of Gordonsville, Tenn., Mary Center and her husband Wayne of Mechanicville, N.Y., Kelly Walsh and Ron Wideawake of Bennington, Bernard Blair and his wife Cherryl of Bennington, Robert Peckham of Colorado, Heather and Joel Perry of Maine, and Meagan Peckham-Allen and her husband Phil of Maine and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Edward O. Pratt whom she married October 5, 1940. Mr. Pratt died July 17, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Rose Welch, her son Miles Welch, her sister Martha Morse, her brothers Miles and James Welch and her grandson Edward O. Blair. FUNERAL NOTICE: The family will receive friends at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home 13 West Main Street in Bennington on Friday November 11, 2011 at 9 a.m. followed by the liturgy of Christian Death and Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church in Bennington. Interment will be held at 3 p.m. in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington.
