Mary Theresa Donovan Beron 1927-2008 SHAFTSBURY Mary Theresa Donovan Beron, wife of Ernest Beron, a resident of Rollin Road, died Tuesday, April 8, at her residence following a long illness. Born in the Bronx, N.Y.March 16, 1927, daughter of the late Michael Joseph Donovan from Tipperary, Ireland and Kathryn Mary Shine Donovan from County Kerry, Ireland.Theresa received her early education in the Bronx and later attended Fordham University in N.Y.C.Ernie and Theresa were married Sept. 17, 1955 in the Bronx. They resided in Barrington, R.I. for many years prior to moving to Shaftsbury. Theresa was a devout member of St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington. She enjoyed birding, gardening, shell collecting, and family gatherings. Mrs. Beron was a Past Board Member of the Shaftsbury Historical Society. While living in Barrington, Theresa and Ernie hosted several members of the Vienna Boys Choir in their home while they were touring in the area. Barrington was the only stop where the choir members were allowed to stay in private homes and one of Theresa's fondest memories was when the choir members learned the English version of Happy Birthday and sang to her on her 45th birthday. She leaves her husband, Ernest Beron of Shaftsbury; a son, Michael Beron a daughter and son-in-law, Maureen and Patrick O'Brien of Westwood, Mass., a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Julie Beron of Westborough, Mass.; six grandchildren; Colin, Katie, Kelsey, Connor, Justin and Daniel, a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Mar and Daniel Sullivan of N.Y.C., N.Y.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington on Friday, April 11, at 10 a.m. where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered. A prayer service will precede the funeral mass at 9;15 a.m. at the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME in Bennington. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. The Vigil Service will be offered during the visitation on Thursday evening. Burial will take place in the family lot in St. Johns Cemetery, North Bennington.
