Mary J. Walling 1938-2012 Mary J. Walling, 73 a resident of Woodcock Road died Tuesday July 10, 2012 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following an extended illness. Mary was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on November 9, 1938, she was the daughter of Giuseppe and Loota (Malenelle) Calabrese. For many years she had worked as a bookkeeper for oil companies on Long Island. She relocated to the Arlington area several years ago where she joined St. Margaret Mary's Church, she had been active with the Ladies Sodality in earlier years. For many years, Mary and her husband, Ed owned and operated the Sandgate Morgan Horse Farm where they raised world class Morgan horses, their horses were champions in all disciplines. One horse was transported to England where it was used to pull the Royal carriage of the Queen Elizabeth II of England. In addition to raising and showing the Morgans, Mary loved working around the farm in her flower gardens. She leaves her husband, Edward whom she married July 27, 1987, a sister Angela Salafia of New Mexico, nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 13 at 10 a.m. at Christ Our Saviour (St. Margaret Mary's) Church in Arlington. Burial will follow in St. Columbans Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made in her memory to the Arlington Rescue Squad in care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, P.O. Box 528, Arlington, VT 05250.
