MANCHESTER -- Maud L. Parker, 92, a lifelong resident of Danby and Cass Terrace in Manchester, died Saturday morning, Sept. 18, 2004, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington.

She was born in Danby on Jan. 30, 1912, a daughter of Harley and Jessie (Fitzgerald) Harrington, and attended local schools. Mrs. Parker cherished her family. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, as raising her family was the most important aspect of her life. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning and pickling, and enjoyed spending time traveling in her later years.

She is survived by two sons, Peter Parker of Manchester Center and Merle Parker of Cavendish; two daughters, Florence McIntyre of Greenwich, N.Y., and Gayle Buck of West Rutland; a sister, Edith Mclellan of Danby and Rutland; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert, in 1982.

Funeral services for Mrs. Parker will be held Tuesday morning, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. at Brewster Funeral Service, 34 Park Place, Manchester Center. Pastor Ralph Stone of Mt. Vies Baptist Church will conduct the service. Committal services will follow in Scottville Cemetery in Danby. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday morning, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
