Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral Services for Maureen M. Kearns were held from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church Monday, July 9, 2007, where the Mass of Resurrection was offered by the Rev. Vincent Coppola, c.s.c., associate pastor.

Organist was Donald McMahon and soloist was Monica Murray. Hymns offered during the funeral mass included the Irish Blessing, Prayer of Saint Francis, Ave Maria, and Le Voci.

The funeral pall that draped Maureen’s casket during the funeral mass was placed by her five siblings, Judy Dudley, Pamela Minardi, Kevin Kearns, Colin Kearns and Sheila Kearns. A wooden cross was then placed on the casket by Maureen’s mother, Rita Kearns. The scriptural readings were offered by Katherine Kearns and Nicole Monardi, nieces. The offertory gifts were presented by Ben Minardi IV, a nephew, his wife Molly and their two children, Paige and Ben Minardi V. Words of remembrance were offered by Cecile Bandman, a friend of Maureen’s and by Maureen’s sister, Judy Dudley.

Bearers were two brothers-in-law, Tony Dudley and Benjamin Minardi III; three nephews, Benjamin Minardi VI, Scott Dudley and Derek Kearns; also Henry Munns. Honorary bearers from St. Anne’s Society were Theresa Agliere, Doris Bourgeois, Mary Lou Cox, Estelle Hoth, Louis Tessier and Rose Nichols.

A prayer service at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home preceded the funeral mass.

Sunday afternoon the Wake Service was offered at the funeral home by Father Coppola. Also in attendance at the funeral home on Sunday were members of St. Anne’s Society, who joined in the recitation of the Rosary in memory of Maureen.

Burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father Coppola offering the committal prayers.

Following the funeral service a reception was held at the Mt. Anthony Country Club in Bennington.

Maureen Kearns, a former resident of Bennington and more recently of Pittsfield, Mass., died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Ben and Pamela Minardi in Leola, Pa.
