Maureen P. Wilcox Obituary
Maureen P. Wilcox, 78, a resident of Cozy Meadow Park in Pownal, VT died Tuesday February 14, 2017 at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington following a brief illness.

She was born in North Adams, MA September 8, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Bushika) Messier. Maureen received her education in North Adams and was a graduate of Drury High School in North Adams. She later graduated from Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee, MA with a degree in Education.

In earlier years Maureen taught grade school in North Adams and for 26 years she worked at Bijur in Bennington from which she retired.

Maureen enjoyed cooking, knitting and gardening. She loved her animals. Her family and grandchildren were her main interest.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Tim Dumas and Carey Brown of Tulare, California, Mark Dumas of Pownal, VT, Paula Mcauliffe and Pat of Pownal and Neal Dumas and Carrie of Bennington. Her grandchildren, Bradley Armstrong, Kylie Dumas, Kenna Mcauliffe, Levi Dumas, Isabelle Mcauliffe and Rainey Dumas, along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.

SERVICES: Family and friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Sunday February 19, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

If friends desire contributions in memory of Maureen P. Wilcox may be made to either the of Bennington County or the Second Chance Animal Shelter through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
