Obituary Condolences

WEST RUPERT -- Melanie Jean Neil, 33, of West Rupert, passed away Sunday night, July 15, 2007, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Melanie was born January 3, 1974, in Marlboro Mass.

She attended Mount Anthony High School in Bennington and also attended Albany Job Corps. Melanie pursued her education in cosmetology. She was a longtime resident of West Rupert and a member of the Rupert United Methodist Church. Melanie had many interests including animals. She loved vacations, especially spending time at the ocean and with family at Twin Mountain, N.H., to visit her uncle Dicky and Aunt Lorraine and their children, as well as her uncle Michael and his children and Uncle Steve.

Melanie is survived by her mother and step-father, Karen Mary and Dennis Ayers of West Rupert; her father, Robert William Santoro of East Corinth, Maine; her husband of 14 years, Jeffrey J. Neil, whom she married July 2, 1994. She is also survived by her children, Samantha Neil, Robyn Neil, Brooke Neil and Wesley Neil, all of West Rupert; her two brothers, Michael Santoro of Ocala, Fla., and Anthony Ayers of West Rupert; three half-sisters, Lisa Marie Goodell of Waterford, Shelly Joy Lawlor of Greenville, Tenn., and Hope Ann Pezzuti of Greenville, Tenn. Melanie was pre-deceased by her son, Jeffrey James Neil on Oct. 8, 1994.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2007, at the Rupert United Methodist Church, Rupert, with the Rev. Mary Beth Hutchinson officiating. Interment will follow the service at White Chapel Cemetery, Chapel Road, Bennington. Following the funeral services, the family invites everyone to join them for a reception at the Rupert Congregational Church hall

Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McClellan Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem, N.Y.
