Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Melvin F. Stuart were held from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church Thursday, April 12, 2007, where the Mass of Resurrection was offered by the Rev. Vincent Coppola, csc, associate pastor.

Organist was Dianne Maynard and soloist was Monica Murray. Hymns offered during the funeral service were “Ave Maria,” “Amazing Grace,” “On Eagles Wings,” “Morning Has Broken” and “I Am the Bread of Life.”

The pall that draped Mr. Stuart’s casket during the funeral mass was placed by his pallbearers, John Ottaviano, Tony and John Reynaud, and Josh, Taylor and Charles Stuart. Tiffany Stuart, Mr. Stuart’s daughter, than placed a wooden cross on the casket. The scriptural readings were offered by Mary Ann Reynaud and Beverly Kestler. The offertory gifts were presented by Marilyn and Mario Ottaviano. Words of remembrance were offered by John Reynaud and the poem “Footprints” was read by John LoGalbo. Serving as acolytes were Mr. Joseph Anton, Mr. Edward Molloy, Dr. Barth Vander Els, and Mr. Len Anzivino.

A prayer service at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home preceded the funeral mass.

Burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father Coppola offering the committal prayers. Following the funeral service a reception was held at Elizabeth’s Garden in Bennington.

Mr. Stuart, a resident of Margaret Lane, Bennington, died April 7, 2007, at his residence.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
