Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Michael J. “Mickey” Vince Jr. were held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, with Rev. Jerrod Hugenot, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bennington officiating.

Musical selections offered during the service were “Let There Be Peace on Earth” and “Amazing Grace.” Mr. Vince’s sister, Josephine Shepard, read the “Indian Prayer” and his daughter-in-law Debbie Vince offered a eulogy.

The burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, with Rev. Hugenot offering the committal prayers. Full military honors were offered to the United States Army veteran by members of the Vermont National Guard. Military Taps were sounded by Spc. Stockwell. The American Flag was folded by Sgt. Garvey and Sgt. 1st Class Mumley and presented to Mr. Vince’s sister Josephine Shepard. The Rifle Squad consisted of Staff Sgt. Bushee, Staff Sgt. Buley, Staff Sgt. Fraker, Sgt. Fisher and Spc. Andrews.

A reception followed the service at the First Baptist Church Hall.

Mr. Michael J. “Mickey” Vince Jr., 76, a resident of Autumn Acres, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at his residence. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington.
