Obituary Condolences

WOODFORD -- Mr. Michael P. Proulx, 61, a resident of Woodford, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 1, 2004 at the Loudon International Speedway in Loudon, N.H.

He was born in Greenfield, Mass. Sept. 8, 1942. He was the son of the late Wilfred and Francese (Barabee) Proulx. He received his education in Greenfield, Mass. and Litchfield, Conn. Mike married the former Diane Peterson Nov. 20, 1976 in Bennington.

In earlier years, he worked as a mechanic for several local car dealerships. He also owned and operated the Northside Drive Chevron Station and the Gulf Station. Since 1987 Mike owned and operated D&M Auto in Woodford.

He was an avid race car fan on the local circuit. He enjoyed working on race cars and watching NASCAR. His family was his main interest.

Survivors include his wife Diane Proulx of Woodford; a son, Shane, and his wife, Jodi Thompson of Bomoseen; a granddaughter, Alyssa Thompson of Bomoseen; two brothers, Bryan Proulx of Bennington and Gerard Proulx of Holyoke, Mass.; two sisters, Rena Shepard of St. Johnsbury and Jean Hately of Danville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Deborah Estey, pastor of the Shaftsbury United Methodist Church, officiating.

The burial will take place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday, July 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
