Michael Ram Obituary

RUPERT -- Michael S. Ram, born in Newark, N.J., passed away on April 19, 2004 at his home in Rupert.

Michael lived in Warren and Waitsfield, from 1969 to 1990. During his years there, he participated in numerous community activities, including youth hockey, the Valley Players and the Waitsfield Planning Commission. He raised his three children in these communities.

Most recently Michael, who was 59 years old at the time of his passing, was employed as a guide and instructor with the Orvis Fly Fishing School in Manchester, where he was able to share with many his great love for fly fishing and the Vermont countryside.

A farewell gathering for family and friends was held at noon on Saturday, April 24 at the Equinox Pond in Manchester. Michael considered this pond his “office.”

His children, Ethan M. Ram, Whitley A. Ram and stepson, Richard E. Pinkham; his twin sister, Susan Goldman; his brother, Arnold Ram; and his sister Sondra Boden survive Michael. His family greatly appreciates the immediate response of the Rupert Volunteer Rescue Squad.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rupert Volunteer Fire & Rescue Squad, Second Chance Animal Hospital in Shaftsbury and Casting for Recovery in Manchester.
