Obituary Condolences

Michael F. Stone

1960-2010 Michael Forrest Stone, 49, passed away peacefully at his home April 2, 2010, in Westminster, Colo., after a long courageous battle with brain cancer.

He was the beloved husband of Deborah Lynn McLean Stone, who survives, and who lovingly cared for him throughout his illness.

Mike was the youngest son of Forrest and Marion "Molly" Stone, of Cambridge, N.Y. and Palm Bay, Fla., and the brother of Glen Stone of Cambridge, N.Y.

Mike was born Sept. 17, 1960, in Greenfield, Mass., and lived his first 15 years in Whitingham, Vt., where he attended grade school. In 1975 he moved to Cambridge, N.Y., where he lived until his marriage in 1983 to Debbie. His education continued at Cambridge Central School where he graduated in the class of 1979, and Adirondack Community College, class of 1982, with a major in computer science.

He worked through high school and college as a pizza maker. In his professional life, Mike worked for many years as a certified Ford automotive technician and later, as an independent contractor with his own company, Stone Property Services. For the past 16 years he and his family have resided in Westminster, Colo.

In addition to his wife of 26 years, Mike leaves a daughter, Jennifer Karin Stone; granddaughter, Priscilla Michelle, born Apr. 7, 2010, in Fort Worth, Texas; as well as a son, David Michael Stone of Westminster, Colo. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and in-laws happy to claim him as their own.

Mike enjoyed camping, hiking, bodybuilding and just lending an ear to anyone who needed it. He was a friend to everyone he met and had a way of making each one feel they were his very special friend. Mike was a man who touched lives through his gracious acts of kindness and will be sorely missed by all those he encountered.

He was a proud dad and looked forward to being a grandpa. To preserve his memory his family strives to follow his example and live life to its fullest.

Memorials honoring his life may be made to Evercare Hospice & Palliative Care, 6455 S.
