Obituary Condolences

SHAFTSBURY -- Mildred Irene Jepson, 90, a resident of Twitchell Hill, died Thursday morning, Dec. 2, 2004, in Bennington following a long illness. Her family and caregivers were at her side.

Born in Bennington on Feb. 10, 1914, she was the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Smith) Jepson Sr. Miss Jepson grew up in Bennington and attended local schools. She had been employed at the former Thomson Manufacturing Company and the former EZ Mills, both in Bennington. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Bennington and she enjoyed the out of doors, in particular gardening and raising flowers. Throughout her life she also enjoyed writing, sewing and rug hooking. Miss Jepson leaves two sisters, Gladys Jepson, with whom she made her home in Shaftsbury, and Lillian Harrington of Shaftsbury; her special friend, Katherine Foucher of Bennington; and her caregiver these past few months, Brenda Serafin of Bennington; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Marion Stratton, and her brothers Charles Jepson, Clayton Jepson, Howard Jepson, George Jepson, Clarence Jepson and John Jepson Jr. Funeral services will be held at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Norma Drosky, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bennington. Burial will follow in the Jepson family lot in the White Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. Should friends desire, memorial gifts in Miss Jepson’s memory may be made to either the First Baptist Church or the Bennington Area Home Health Hospice in care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
