Obituary Condolences

SHAFTSBURY -- Funeral services for Mildred I. Jepson were held at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home on Saturday morning. Officiating was the Rev. Norma Drosky, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bennington. Readings for the service were offered by two of Miss Jespon’s great-nieces, Kathleen Williams who read the 23rd Psalm and Jennifer Jespon Smith who read Ecclesiastes 3:19. A niece, Mary Jepson, shared memories of Miss Jespon’s life and her interests. Jennifer Smith read a poem in her memory.

Special musical selections for the service included some of Miss Jepson’s favorites, they were “In The Garden,” “Old Rugged Cross,” “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace.” Burial followed in the Jepson family lot in White Chapel Cemetery, where the Rev. Drosky offered the committal prayers.

Serving as bearers were Clayton Jepson, Gerald Jepson, Robert Nolan, David Mattison, James Jepson and Ethan Smith.

Miss Jepson, a resident of Twitchell Hill, died Dec. 2, 2004 in Bennington following a lengthy illness at the age of 90.
