BENNINGTON -- Mildred L. Farrar, 79, widow of Franklin W. Farrar Sr., a resident of County Street, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born in Weston on Dec. 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Maude (Taft) Stevens. She received her education in the Weston schools.

Mr. and Mrs. Farrar were married in Chester on Dec. 30, 1942. Mr. Farrar died Nov. 1, 1989.

Mrs. Farrar’s home and family were her main interest.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Franklin W. Farrar Jr. and his wife, Dawn, of Malta, N.Y., a son, Richard Farrar of Troy, N.Y., and a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Guy Senesca of Richmond; seven grandchildren, James Farrar, Rachael VanDeusen, Franklin Dean Farrar, Sarah Masi, Heidi Lawyer, Angela and Joseph Masi; five great-grandchildren, Kyle and Evan VanDeusen, Anneliese Masi, Marleen and Conner Lawyer; two sisters, Grace Rice of South Burlington and Ina Spaulding of Ascutney; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Saturday, March, 11, 2006, at 10 a.m. with Pastor John Goyette of the Green Mountain Christian Center officiating.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.

Entombment will take place at Park Lawn Chapel with burial to be in the spring at Maple Grove Cemetery in Weston.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center or the Bennington Rescue Squad through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
