1922 - 2016 Mrs. Mildred Lampron, 94, widow of Alyre E. "Al" Lampron a former resident of Walloomsac Apts. in Bennington and more recently of the Vermont Veterans Home, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. She was born in Stephentown, New York August 27, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Phoebe (Livingston) Thompson. Mildred received her early education in New Lebanon, N.Y. and Castleton, N.Y. and graduated from Columbia High School in East Greenbush, N.Y. Mildred served in the United States Navy during World War II. She proudly served with the WAVE's She married Alyre E. Lampron on June 25, 1949 at Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington. Mr. Lampron died December 31, 1997. In earlier years Mildred was employed at the Polygraphic Company in North Bennington. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, bingo and jig saw puzzles. For fourteen years Mildred volunteered with the Meals and Wheels Program. She was a member of Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington. Survivors include a son, Paul A. Lampron and his wife Vickie of Bennington; two grandsons, Paul P. Lampron and his daughters Cyra Antonia and Cree Ishana and Michael D. Lampron and his daughters Taylor Elizabeth and Riley Marie. Along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by three brothers Charles, Martin and Thomas Thompson and two sisters Lulu Carey and Edna May Thompson. FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service will be held at the family lot at White Chapel Cemetery on Monday September 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. If friends desire contributions in memory of Mildred may be made to either Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church, the Bennington County Meals on Wheels Program or the Bennington Town Democrats through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
