Mildred L. Pellegrini

1927 - 2014 DORSET Mildred Lucille Pellegrini, 86, a resident of Morse Hill Road in Dorset, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, at her home. Mildred was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 5, 1927, the daughter of Alfred and Christine DeLuca Bevilacqua. She attended local schools and worked for a hosiery company at the Empire State Building. In 1959, she moved to Long Island and was a manager for Modell's Department Store. In 1974, with her husband Joseph, purchased the Manchester Country Store and owned and operated the store for twenty-five years, until 1999. Mildred loved flower gardening and her home, especially taking care of her beautiful property. She loved to cook for her family and was exceptional at preparing authentic Italian food. She handed down her recipes to her children and grandchildren, including her sauce and meatball recipes. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially traveling to Italy for their 50th wedding anniversary, and many car and bus trips. Mildred is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Pellegrini, of Dorset, whom she married in Brooklyn, N.Y., on April 4, 1948; daughter, Darinda Salinetti and her husband, Peter, of Colonie, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Lucy Pellegrini of Bristol, Vt.; sister, Clarice Fasulo of Brooklyn, N.Y.; grandchildren, Christopher and his wife, Yong-nam, Scott and his girlfriend, Lorena, Catherine and her husband, Aaron, Joseph and his wife, Laura, Daniel and his wife Karen, and Michael and his wife, Carolyn; great-grandchildren, Emma and Jack, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons, Raymond P. Pellegrini, who died in 2006, and Donald J. Pellegrini, who died in 1993; brothers, Louis Bevilacqua and Alfred Bevilacqua Jr., and sisters, Elvira Floridia and Edyth Bevilacqua. FUNERAL NOTICE: A mass of christian death and burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning, April 2, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Christ Our Savior Parish, in Manchester Center. Interment will be in held later in the spring in the family lot in Dellwood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014, from 4 to 7p.m. at BREWSTER SHEA FUNERAL SERVICE 34 Park Place Manchester Center, Vermont.
