Millie M. VanOrman

BENNINGTON Millie M. VanOrman, widow of Floyd VanOrman, a former resident of Murphy, Road, North Bennington, died Monday, April 14, 2014 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a long illnessThe daughter of the late William and Edith (Noyes) Bakaitis, Millie received her education in the North Bennington schools. For many years Millie was employed in retail sales until the time of her retirement. Mr. VanOrman died in 1998. For the past several years Millie had resided at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation where she was a very active participant in the CLR activities including serving as president of the Residents Council and attending many of the musical and religious services offered there. Millie especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Gail and Wally Harrington and Teddy and Jamie Hill, all of North Bennington and Chuck and Michelle VanOrman of Shaftsbury; seven grandchildren, Nicole Harrington, Star Schmaler, Josh Harrington, Felicity Purzycki, Peter Bennett, Kelsey Hill and Haley VanOrman; three great-grandchildren, Riley and Brett Schmaler and Sydney Purzycki; a sister, Pat Cushman of North Bennington and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Millie was predeceased by a sister, Betty Maroney. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside committal services celebrating the life of Millie VanOrman will be held at the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery on Thursday, 17, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Millie's memory may be made to the Bible Baptist Church through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
