Milton R. Brownell

1928 - 2009 HOOSICK FALLS, NY Milton R. Brownell, 81, died Nov. 11, 2009, due to a short illness. He resided on High Street in Hoosick Falls with his wife of 59 years, Stella Ducker Brownell.

Born on Sept. 11, 1928, in West Hoosick, son of Raymond and Ethel LeBarron Brownell, he was educated in schools in West Hoosick. He was employed by Oak Industries and Allied Signal in Hoosick Falls for 38 years, retiring in 1998. Milton also worked for Bakers Nurseries for over 60 years and the Harold Hill farm for many years.

He enjoyed mowing his lawn, washing his vehicles, going to fairs, watching wrestling, listening to music and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Other than his wife, he leaves three daughters, Diana (William) Cottrell of Hoosick Falls, Donna Sanders of Albany, Denise (Steven) Perry of Niskayuna; four grandchildren, Case (Karen) Cottrell of San Angelo, Texas, Jennifer (Chad) Brownell of Canton, Ohio, Seth (Kellsey) Cottrell of Vancouver, Canada, Shane and Cole Perry of Niskayuna; his great-grandchildren, Douglas, Michael, Case, Cella, Ann Marie, Madison, Mallory, Charlie, Brady, Nikolas; three sisters, Helen Filkins of Latham, Gladys (Stanton) Goodermote of Berlin, Shirley Cottrell of Hoosick Falls; three brothers, Malcom, Kenneth and Charles (Kaye) Brownell, all of Hoosick Falls; his aunt, Anna Ward of Troy, and his uncle, Leverett LaBarron of Potter Hill, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many cousins.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral service will be at the West Hoosick Baptist Church on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. The burial will follow the service at the West Hoosick Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the West Hoosick Baptist Church on Saturday from 12 p.m. to the time of the service.
