Molvene "Molly" Knudsen 1938 - 2011 MANCHESTER, VT Molvene K. "Molly" Knudsen, 72, of Manchester passed away Friday, January 7, 2011, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Molly was born in Slocum, Pa., on Feb. 24, 1938, daughter of Michael and Mary Engle Keiner. She attended elementary school in Slocum and graduated from Berwick High School in Pennsylvania. She was a 1960 graduate of Bloomsburg Univ. in Pa. with a BS in Education. She married David Kashner in September of 1959. David died in July of 1988. Molly married Vagn Knudsen in the summer of 1990. Molly was a teacher in Pennsylvania for five years before moving to Vermont. She taught at Manchester Elementary/Middle School for nine years, Sacred Heart in Newport for three years in grades 7-8, and at Sunderland Elementary School for 16+ years. She worked at the Green Mountain Veterinary Hospital in Manchester for a year, and was also director of the Manchester Rec Center for six years. She taught at the Manchester Tutorial Center for seven years and taught "Project Wild" with Ann Dumas. Molly was a member of the Vermont Business and Professional Women and the Golf Club while in Newport and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma for many years. She enjoyed camping, gardening, flowers, small animals and critters, baking and making people smile. She is survived by her husband, Vagn, of Manchester, her son, Chuck (Clyde) Kashner of Pawlet, two grandchildren, McKayla and Nick Kashner of Pawlet, and a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Win Keiner of Nanticoke, Pa. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Zion Episcopal Church in Manchester. Burial will take place in Factory Point Cemetery. Friends may call at the BREWSTER FUNERAL HOME, 34 Park Place, Manchester, VT on Tuesday Jan. 11 from 5-7 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
