READSBORO -- Miss Monica Anne Charron, 18, of 6987 Main St., Readsboro died Saturday, May 1, 2004 at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Mass., where she was admitted on Friday, April 30, 2004 following a brief illness.

She was born in Brattleboro on Sept. 8, 1985, the only child of Robert Mitchel Charron and Darlene Dawn (Swanson) Charron. She attended the Gabriel Abbott Memorial School in the town of Florida, Mass. and the Readsboro Elementary School. She was a member of the senior class in the culinary arts department of the Charles H. McCann Technical Vocational High School in North Adams, Mass. She was an honor roll student and received a faculty award for excellence in math her junior year. Through the culinary arts program at McCann, she volunteered at school and community events.

Miss Charron was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Readsboro, and was a former member of the Florida Baptist Church in Florida, Mass. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing religious songs and country music. She was a member of her church choir, the 4-H club and the Girl Scouts in Readsboro, and volunteered at the Readsboro Library. She also worked as a part-time cashier at Shaw’s Supermarket in Wilmington. She loved animals and drawing and was an organ donor.

Miss Charron is survived by her parents, Robert M. and Darlene D. (Swanson) Charron of Readsboro; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Dawn (Bressette) Swanson of Bushnell, Fla.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services take place Thursday, May 6 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of North Adams, Mass. with the Rev. John Brigham, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Readsboro, and the Rev. Irving Mullette, pastor of the Florida Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams are Wednesday, May 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the First Baptist Church of Readsboro through the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA.
