WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Morris “Mark” Zambrello, 91, of West Hartford, passed away Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, at Hartford Hospital. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Viola (Carserino) Zambrello. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter-in-law, Janis E. Zambrello of Arlington, Vt.; and three grandchildren, Kathryn Zambrello of Quincy, Mass., Kimberly Zambrello of Boston and Carolyn Zambrello of Brighton, Mass. He is survived also by one sister, Mary Guerra; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Zambrello was predeceased by his beloved children, Francis M. Zambrello and Janis M. Zambrello.

Mr. Zambrello was born in Hartford and raised in West Hartford. He spent three years in Italy with the U.S. Army, defending his country during World War II. Mr. Zambrello, along with his brothers, owned and operated Zambrello Landscaping until his retirement in the 1980s. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his sense of humor and his devotion to his wife and children.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Helena, 30 Echo Lane, West Hartford. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in West Hartford.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 136 South Main St., West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450-1004.
