NORTH ADAMS, Mass -- Myra J. (Slocum) Geib, 67, of 287 West Main St., died Friday morning May 4, 2007, surrounded by family and friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Fredericka and John Neville III, at 117 Gallup St.

She was born in Cambridge, N.Y., on Aug. 7, 1939, a daughter of the late George Slocum and Hattie (Haviland) Slocum. She attended schools in Hoosick Falls, N.Y., and graduated from Hoosick Falls High School in 1966. She was last employed at the Williamstown Commons as a nurses’ aide, retiring in December 2005. She spent her life as a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker.

She attended the First Baptist Church of Hoosick Falls. She loved sewing, cooking, shopping and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Her first husband, Ralph Stone, died in September 1964. Her second husband, Alan Hoag, died in April 2003. Her former husband was Richard Geib.

Survivors include four daughters: Tammie Woods of Hoosick Falls, Nelinda “Nina” Prebble of Babcock Lake, N.Y., Tina Stone of Belchertown, Mass., and Fredericka Neville of North Adams; four sons, Raplph Stone of Hoosick Falls, Steven Stone of Adams, Mass., Jeffrey Hoag and Frederick Hoag, both of North Adams; 19 grandchildren, Tina, Jonathon, Donald, Rachel, Katelin, Craig, Ralph, Amanda, Kimberly, Mikey, Daniel, Joshua, Tanya, Karissa, Kiersten, Brett, Megan, Jerad and Jocelynn; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew, Katherine, Austin, D.J., Zachary, Dylan and Christian; four sisters, Madeline Dimaggio of Hoosick Falls, Cynthia Ryder of Pownal, Vt., Georgiana Grogan of Bennington, Vt., and Donna Hanson of the state of Florida. She was predeceased by a brother, Alvin Slocum, and a sister, Helen Sherman.

Funeral services will take place Monday at 7 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, with the Rev. Mr. Robert Moulton, deacon of the Adams Catholic community, officiating. Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date in the family lot in the Hoosick Rural Cemetery. Donations are suggested for the V.N.A. & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home.
