BENNINGTON -- Nancy Gore Brandi, 55, wife of Edward Brandi, a longtime resident of Houran Road Bennington, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at the Albany Medical Center following a long illness.

She was born in Bennington, November 1951. She was the daughter of the late Ransom and Norma (Houran) Gore. She received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Putnam Memorial School of Nursing in 1989.

Mr. and Mrs. Brandi were married May 22, 1971, on the Houran family farm.

In 1983 Nancy joined the nursing staff at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center and in 1997 she retired due to health reasons.

Nancy enjoyed sewing and embroidering, and in earlier years she enjoyed fishing. Her home, family and grandchildren were her main interest. She loved children, was an avid Yankees fan and especially enjoyed going to the ocean.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Brandi of Bennington; two sons, John Jason Brandi of Bennington and Todd Michael Brandi and his wife, Kristina, of Bennington; five grandchildren, Austin John, Cecily, Whitney, Gabrielle and Hunter all of Bennington; two brothers, Gary Gore and his wife, Carolyn, of Bennington, and Randy Gore of Shaftsbury; a sister Judy Thompson and her husband, Tom, of Bennington; an aunt Frieda Brink of Swanzey, N.H.; two nieces, Marleigh Thompson of Bennington and Marie Roberts of Twentynine Palms, Calif.; and four nephews Scott and David Thompson and Gary Gore, all of Bennington, and Greg Bontadelli of Rochester, N.Y. Three great-nieces, Alexis Jo Gore and Chloe Gore both of Bennington, and Audrey Grace Roberts of Twentynine Palms, Calif.; a sister-in-law Nancy Bontadelli and her husband, Ken, of Lycoming, N.Y.; and her friends, Barry Richardson and Donna Miner, of Shaftsbury.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Saturday, June 23, 2007, at 9:30 a.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 10 a.m where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered.

The burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Friday, June 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.
