Nancy A. McCabe

1935-2012 Nancy A. McCabe 77, passed away on Wednesday November 21, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. She resided on Elm Street in Hoosick Falls and was the wife of the late Loren E. McCabe who died in 1993.

Nancy was born on March 7, 1935, in Hoosick Falls, daughter of the late Edwin and Florence (Callahan) Webster. She graduated from St. Mary's Academyin 1952. Nancy was formerly employed at Isola Industries in Hoosick Falls, Hemmings Motor News in Bennington and currently at HAYC3, in Hoosick Falls. She enjoyed annual vacations to York Beach with her family.

Nancy was very active in the community, helping her husband run the family store on High Street McCabe's General Store from 1963 to 1975. She was also a member of U.S. Bowling Congress at the Bar-B-Que Lanes for thirty years, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W., Derby Club, Miller Hose Company (Hoosick Falls Fire Department), St. Stanislaw Society, Senior Citizens, Maple Grove Cemetery Board all in Hoosick Falls, and was a National Cancer Coalition Volunteer.

Survivors include her daughters Laurie Garippa (Steve) of Midlothian, TX, Susan Matatt (Michael) of Hoosick Falls, sons Donald McCabe (Lisa), David McCabe all of Hoosick Falls, Douglas McCabe (Tina) of Saranac Lake, NY, sister Patricia LeBarron (Donald) of Corpus Christi, TX, brothers Walter Webster (Nancy) of Eagle Mills, NY, John Webster (Barb) of South Glens Falls, NY, and E. Thomas Webster (Mary) of Hoosick Falls. Nancy is also survived by Aunt Sally Webster of Hoosick Falls, her grandchildren Christian Garippa (Allison), Timothy Garippa, Krista Matatt, Kaila Matatt, Michael Matatt, Michael McCabe, Jonathan McCabe and Nicholas McCabe, great grandchild Adelyn Garippa, and several nieces and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by a grandson Loren Raymond Mattat.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday November 26, at 11:00 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the mass at Maple Grove Cemetery, Hoosick Falls.

Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls on Sunday November 25, from 3:00 - 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to either HAYC3 or the Hoosick Falls Fire Department through the funeral home.
