Nancy Ann Paquin

1939-2013 Nancy Ann Paquin, a resident of Gaithersburg for 41 years, passed away at Shady Grove Hospital on December 29, 2012, at the age of 73 from complications of COPD.

Born November 3, 1939, and raised in Bennington, VT, she was a 1957 graduate of Bennington High School, a 1961 graduate of the University of Vermont with a BA in Mathematics, earned a MS in Public Administration at American University in 1965.

Ms. Paquin was employed as a civil servant in the US Public Health Service from 1961 to her retirement in 1999. She served at the Bureau of Radiological Health (present Center for Devices and Radiological Health) during the early days of computers and later transferred to the Bureau of Health Manpower, now located in the Health Resources and Services Administration where her career culminated in her appointment as agency Chief Information Officer in 1996. She traveled extensively for her work visiting most of the states for conferences and training programs.

She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Alice Paquin, and her brother John Paquin. She is survived by a brother Raymond Jr. (Mary Ellen) Paquin of Port Charlotte, FL; her sisters Jean (Joe) Maillet of Punta Gordo, FL; Barbara (Lewis) French of Montrose, CO; Patricia (Milton) Surdam of Bennington, VT and sister-in-law Linda Paquin of Shaftsbury, VT; 18 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and great nephews, many friends and caregivers.

Her avocations include her family, photography, the Washington Redskins, gardening, home projects and spending time at Lake Raponda, Wilmington, VT. She was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Pi Beta Phi Sorority, and many professional organizations.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church on Friday July 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
