1940-2013 ARLINGTON Nancy Rieben, 73, a resident of Maple Hill Road in Arlington passed away early Thursday morning September 5, 2013 at her home. Nancy was born in Ithaca, New York on June 3, 1940 the daughter of Robert and Clele (Slaught) Snow. She received her education in Trumansburg, New York schools, graduating from Trumansburg Central High School, class of 1958. For several years, Nancy worked as a substitute teacher, specializing in reading in Arlington and taught special education at the Sunderland School. Nancy then went to work at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center Medical Records and was the senior employee for Dr. Edwards. Nancy enjoyed reading, knitting and sewing and sang in the Arlington Chorale. Nancy loved sports. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed following local sports especially basketball and soccer. She enjoyed travelling, going to lunch with her friends and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her former husband Fred Rieben of Manchester, Vermont, her children Christopher Rieben and his wife Vivian of Cambridge, New York, Mark Rieben of Trumansburg, New York and Heidi Cross of White Creek, New York, her sister Betsy Mekeel and her husband Rick of Ocala, Florida, her grandchildren Charles Hodge of Hoosick Falls, New York and Emma Cross of White Creek, New York and several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Nancy will be held Tuesday September 10, 2013 at 11am at the Federated Church of East Arlington. Rev. Kathleen Clark will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot in Grove Cemetery in Trumansburg.
