SHAFTSBURY -- Natalie J. Easter, wife of Carl E. Easter, a resident of Holiday Drive, Shaftsbury, passed away on Monday, Dec. 6, 2004 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Born in Brattleboro Oct. 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Karinia and Norman Brimmer-Goss. Natalie graduated from Hoosick Falls High School in 1955.

Natalie and Carl were married on Dec. 28, 1957, in Shaftsbury. She was employed at the Iron Kettle restaurant and Friendly’s for 22 years.

Natalie was an avid bowler and participated in many leagues at Bennington Lanes. She traveled to the Women’s International Bowling Tournament, held in many cities in the United States, for 17 years. In 1995, she placed first in her division of the Vermont State Senior Tournament held in Tucson, Ariz.

Natalie enjoyed gardening, reading, painting in watercolors and oils, baking and cooking and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her loving husband, Carl, a son and daughter-in-law, Carl N. and Cheryl Easter of Forrestdale; a daughter and son-in-law, Karinia L. and Frederick Mielke of Shaftsbury; a granddaughter, Natasha A. Brandmeyer and her husband Michael of Pownal; a granddaughter, Kayla Maxey of Gary, Ind.; two sisters, Louise Matteson of Bennington and Ronnie Baldwin and her husband Harold of Shaftsbury and a brother, Stewart Goss and his friend Roxie Cardonell of Pownal; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be held from the Shaftsbury United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Deborah Estey, pastor, officiating.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery.
