Natalie J. Hyland Obituary
Natalie J. Hyland, 92, formerly of Putnam Street passed away peacefully on April 27, 2017 at Iroquois Nursing Home in Jamesville, NY. Natalie was born in Rutland Vt. On June 29, 1924 the daughter of the late Russell Hyland and Lorena Hill.

Natalie attended Rutland schools graduating from Rutland High school, then graduating Nursing Training at the Putnam School of Nursing. Natalie worked as an LPN at Putnam Hospital which is now Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for 50 years.

Natalie was an avid swimmer and enjoyed swimming at the recreation center for many years. She was a member of the National LPN Association. In her younger years Natalie was proficient in equestrian events.

Natalie enjoyed many years of travelling abroad and too many tropic islands, Barbados being her favorite. For Natalie's 80th birthday her niece Kim surprised her with a last trip to Barbados and her niece Daynia arranged for a limo to take friends and family to Boston for dinner and a surprise farewell.

Upon retirement Natalie taught the first grade program helping children to understand what to expect should they have to be hospitalized.

Natalie leaves behind her niece Karen Booraem and husband, Jonathan of Harwich, MA, great nieces Kimberly Ettori and Daynia Dodd and husband Paul of Fayetteville, NY. Also cousins Kimlee Butterfield and husband Michael Olsen of Williston, VT, Bronwyn Butterfield and husband Warren Miller of Prescott, Arizona. Natalie was preceded in death by her sister Margaret H. Nelson.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at the Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home, 213 West Main Street, Bennington, VT on June 24, 2017 at 1 PM with a reception immediately following. Interment will be held at the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery in Rutland, VT. At a later date. There will be no visiting hours.
