Nicholas A. Watson 1978-2008 BENNINGTON Nicholas A. Watson, 29, a resident of East Road, died Friday March 28, at the Southwestern Vt. Medical Center in Bennington surrounded by his family following a long battle with cancer. He was born in Bennington, Vt. Sept. 22, 1978. Son of Charles E. Watson Jr. and Noreen L. Johnson Watson. He received his education in Bennington and was a 1998 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School Nicholas had been employed in the meat department at both Hannaford's and Price Chopper in Bennington. He later worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart in Bennington. While growing up Nicholas was involved with the Boy Scouts. He also enjoyed motorcycling, fishing and hunting. He also loved taking walks on the beach, especially at Hampton Beach with his son Patrick and playing with radioed controlled vehicles with Patrick. He leaves a son Patrick A. Watson of Bennington. His parents, Charles E. Jr. and Noreen Watson of Bennington. His fiancé Dawn North and her children Zachary and Ashley Dessert of Bennington. Two brothers Charles E. "Chip" Watson III and his fiancé Autumn Durrin of Bennington and David C. Watson of Bennington. A sister Heather C. Hathaway and her husband Stephen of Pownal, Vt. Two nephews Charles Watson IV of Bennington and Corey Hathaway of Pownal. Two nieces, Joslyn Dickie and Haley Hathaway of Pownal. His paternal grandparents Charles and Suzanne Watson of Bennington and his maternal grandparents Frank Johnson and Louise Johnson of Bennington. Several aunts, uncles and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday April 1, 2008 with a prayer at 10:15 a.m. and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Monday March 31, 2008 from 5 to 7p.m. when the family will be in attendance. If friends desire contributions in memory of Nicholas A. Watson may be made to the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
