Niles Jack Perry 1940-2011 MANCHESTER, VT Niles "Jack" Perry, 71, of Manchester Center, Vt., passed away at his home on September 22, 2011. Jack was born in Cambridge, Vt., on September 17, 1940 the son of Richard and Edith (Robtoy) Perry. The Perry family moved to St. Johnsbury, Vt., when Jack was a year old and he was educated in area schools, graduating from St. Johnsbury Trade School. Jack was also a graduate of the National School of Heavy Equipment. Jack married the former Catherine Bovey in Manchester on April 24, 1965. Jack worked for several Vermont construction firms, the last being Champlain Construction in Middlebury. Jack then started Perry Construction in 1975, running that business until 2008. He had also built up sizeable firewood and snowplowing business. Jack is survived by his wife, Catherine, of Manchester Center, Vt., his brother; Carlton Perry of St. Johnsbury, Vt., his sister and brother-in-law; Carltina and Oie Hall of Weaverville, N.C., his aunt; Irene Gover of Morrisville, Vt., his nieces and nephews; Cynthia Black and her husband, William, Neil Hall and his wife, Michelle, and Karla Hagan and her husband, Larry, all of Weaverville, N.C., Kathy Greer, Randy, Michael and Timothy Perry, all of Orleans, Vt., and Deborah Leach and her husband, Michael, of Barton, Vt. FUNERAL NOTICE: The Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated on Monday September 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish/St. Paul's Church in Manchester. Burial will follow in Factory Point Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brewster Funeral Home 34 Park Place Manchester, VT on Sunday September 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Jack's memory be made to the Manchester Health Services, Manchester Fire Department or the Second Chance Animal Shelter c/o Brewster Funeral Service PO Box 885 Manchester, VT 05255.
