SHAFTSBURY -- Funeral services for Nora May Coonradt of Shaftsbury were held on Friday afternoon, Sept. 26, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church of Shaftsbury with the Rev. Deborah Estey, Pastor officiating.

At the beginning of the service the candles on the altar were lighted by Richard Hall. The congregation joined together in singing “In The Garden,” “Amazing Grace” and “God Will Take Care of You” and reciting the Unison Prayer and Psalm 23. Special memories of Nora were shared by her niece, Karen Pratt, and brother-in-law Kenneth Coonradt.

Members of the Taconic Grange # 491, led by Ed Luce, Master and Pauline Jacobs, Chaplain, conducted a memorial service in honor of Mrs. Coonradt, who had been a longtime member.

Interment followed in the Center Shaftsbury Cemetery where Rev. Estey conducted the committal service. Serving as pallbearers were Arnold Harrington, Joseph Coonradt, James Coonradt, Jay Coonradt, Robert Pratt and Charles Becker. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Chester Harrington and Bob Perrone. Following the committal service, friends and family gathered in the Michael C. Paulin Room at the church for a time of fellowship and refreshment.

Mrs. Coonradt, a resident of Ledgely Drive in Shaftsbury, died on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bennington at the age of 75. She was the wife of Ernest Coonradt, who died in 1995.

Service arrangements were under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Bennington.
