BENNINGTON -- Mrs. Norma H. Le Poidevin, 77, a resident of Jayne Lane, died peacefully at home on Friday, Nov. 3, 2006.

She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Oct. 20, 1929. She was the daughter of the late John Campbell and Mae (Astley) Norton. She received her education in Montreal. Norma married the Rev. A. Leonard Le Poidevin June 12, 1951, in Montreal. The Rev. Le Poidevin died April 1, 2004.

Norma was a devoted mother and wife. She always put her family before herself. She was a very talented homemaker. When her children were growing up she made all their clothing. She made many of the curtains, drapes and rugs for her house.

She was a great cook and enjoyed baking. Norma was an avid quilter and enjoyed needlepoint.

She enjoyed traveling and going to the ocean. For many years, Norma, along with her husband and children, would spend their summer months on Cape Cod. In 1991 Norma and the Rev. Le Poidevin moved to Bennington to be closer to their family.

Survivors include four children, Sandra Norma Le Poidevin of Bennington, Douglas Leonard Le Poidevin and his fiancé, Martha, of Bennington, Daniel Richard Le Poidevin and his girlfriend, Robin Welsh, of Wellfleet, Mass., and Peggy Ann Le Poidevin of Turners Falls, Mass; three grandchildren Jason LaCroix and his fiancé, Rose Owen, of Shaftsbury, Brian LaCroix and his wife, April, of Shaftsbury and Sarah LaCroix of Shaftsbury; Four great-grandchildren, Hannah LaCroix, William LaCroix, Sophia LaCroix and Miranda LaCroix all of Shaftsbury.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Norma H. Le Poidevin will be held from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at 1 p.m. Contributions in memory of Norma H. Le Poidevein may be made to VNA and Hospice at Southwestern Vermont Health Care through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT.
