Norma L. Greene 1929 - 2008 SHAFTSBURY Norma L. Greene, 79, widow of Myron H. Greene Sr., a resident of East Road died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, following a brief illness. Born in Bennington on May 15, 1929, daughter of Raymond J. Langlois and Mabel Noyes Langlois Morin, she received her education in Bennington schools. For many years, Norma was active with her husband in the operation of the family contracting business. In earlier years, she had been employed at the EZ Mill in Bennington. She enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and doing crafts and puzzles. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was Norma's favorite pastime. Norma and Myron were married at the First Baptist Church in Bennington on Feb. 2, 1952. Myron died June 19, 1998. She leaves four daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Kevin Dunican, Shelley and Abel LeBlanc, Deborah and Bernie McDonald, all of Bennington, and Paula and Dennis Houran of Magnolia, Del.; a son, Myron H. Greene Jr. of Shaftsbury; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter and by a son, Ellen Emily Greene and Francis Morin. FUNERAL NOTICE: At Mrs. Greene's request, private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.Friends are invited to graveside committal services which will be held at the Waite Cemetery on East Road on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008 at 2 p.m. Should friends desire, contributions in Mrs. Norma Greene's memory may be made to VNA & Hospice of Southwestern Vermont Health Care through the office of the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
