Norma M. Edelmann 1926 - 2009 PITTSTOWN Norma (Milligan) Edelmann, 83, a longtime resident of Pittstown and co-founder of Edelmann Sales Inc., died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy following a brief illness. Norma was born Jan. 28, 1926, in Lake Huntington to Alice (Kiesler) Milligan and Edwin Milligan. Norma attended Narrowsburg High School. Norma's husband, the late Frederick W. Edelmann, predeceased her in 1981. Together they built their home in Pittstown in 1959 where they lived with their children Clark, Susy and Mary Lou. In 1966 Norma and Fred started their snowmobile sales and service business at the family home. Norma remained active in the business until her death. Norma enjoyed the natural beauty surrounding her family home. She was an avid reader, enjoyed her many pets, flower gardening and the wild life in the fields surrounding her home. She loved to cook and always had a knitting project in the works. She discovered a passion for traveling late in life, visiting Ireland and Italy with family. Norma was a former member of the Hill Country Cloggers and both the Pittstown and Grafton Snowmobile Clubs. She helped organize and was the first president of the William T. Rohrmann V.F.W. Post Ladies Auxiliary in Lake Huntington. Norma leaves her son, Clark (Mary) Edelmann of Pittstown, two daughters, Susy (James) Gavagan of West Hoosick and Mary Lou (Paul) MacNaughton of Pittstown, a sister, Jeanette Cochrane of Lake Huntington, 10 grandchildren, Tim Edelmann, Patricia (Kenneth) O'Connor, Heidi Edelmann, Robin Edelmann, Kara Gavagan, Finn Gavagan, Michael (Julie) MacNaughton, Jason MacNaughton, Katie MacNaughton, Jill MacNaughton, a great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, a sister, Helen Lowe, and three brothers, Louis Milligan, Everett Milligan and Clark Milligan, predeceased her. MEMORIAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the HOWARD B. TATE & SON FUNERAL HOME INC., 2237 NY Route 7, located in Raymertown with Rev. Gaylord Campbell presiding. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday, September 24th from 4 to 8 p.m. Contributions in lieu of flowers if desired, may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, 6870 State Highway 7A, Shaftsbury, Vermont, 05262, in memory of Norma Milligan Edelmann.
