Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Norman C. Telford Sr., 65, a resident of Buskirk, N.Y., died Friday evening, Nov. 4, 2005, at the Vermont Veterans Home.

Mr. Telford was born at home on the family farm in White Creek, N.Y., on Dec. 24, 1939. He was the son of the late Malcolm and Rose (Monroe) Telford. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U.S. Navy from 1962 until 1966; his stay was extended due to the Cuban missile crisis.

Mr. Telford had worked as a carpenter in earlier years and later at Allied Signal in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. Following his retirement, he worked part-time as a caretaker at the Bennington Battlefield Park in Walloomsac, N.Y.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting coins. A very social person, he loved to travel around visiting his family and friends.

He is survived by two sons, Norman Telford Jr. of Buskirk and Peter P. Telford of Eagle Bridge, N.Y.; two daughters, Marcia R. Colegrove of Buskirk and Kimberly A. Leslie of Eagle Bridge; a sister, Melva O’Brien of Hoosick Falls; 11 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Denver Telford, and sisters Dorothy Mayer, Anna Marsh, Bessie McMurray, Charlotte Telford and Alice Knickerbocker. At the request of Mr. Telford there will be no services.

Arrangements are under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington, Vt.
