Pauline M. Ball

1936-2013 Pauline Marian Ball passed away peacefully on December 3, 2013 at Pleasant Valley Infirmary in New York where she resided. She was born in London, England on January 4, 1936, to Margret Perry of Greenock, Scotland. Due to her mothers war efforts she was raised by her grandmother Perry, until the age of 7, when she was reunited with her mother. She grew up in her beloved Greenock Scotland where she worked in a pharmacy after graduation. It was there she met Rene Neveu. Pauline then came to the United States in 1953 and in 1954 she married Rene Neveu of Manchester, N.H. She enjoyed working at Lavalleys Garden, drive-in movies, reading and relaxing at Hampton Beach whenever possible. She loved Dark Shadows, especially Barnabus , and the Twilight Zone. An avid animal lover, she adopted every stray she found, raising everything from cats, dogs, goats, rabbits, chickens and even a skunk. Fishing, camping, bike riding and digging for antique bottles were her summer hobbies. Her passion was crocheting. She was a talented artist and loved to work in crayons, pencil, and oil paints, a talent she passed on to her many daughters and sons. She loved all genres of music from Doris Day to ZZ top. John Denver, Mitch Miller and Andrea Bocelli were among her favorites. Pauline was blessed with 10 children with Rene before their marriage ended. After moving to North Creek, N.Y., Pauline married Herbert Ball. She worked at Adirondack Tri County Nursing home for many years on the 11-7 shift. She then moved to Manchester N.H. where she took care of a special needs client, Ronald Dennis, for many years before retiring to Vermont. She resided in the Wilmington/Halifax/Readsboro area of Vermont for many years where she made numerous friends. She worked delivering meals on wheels and had special clients like Henry Wein of Wilmington, Vt. She was always making afghans and crocheting blankets for organizations that needed her help. She had many friends and will be missed by all. Predeceased by both Rene Neveu and Herbert Ball, Pauline is survived by her 10 children, Marian Royal (NH), Rene Neveu II (NH), Cheryl Neveu (VT), Sandra Christian (NY), Jane Crane (NH), Joan Sargent (NH), Elizabeth Neveu (NH), Patricia Steffen (NY), Joseph Neveu (NH), Michael Neveu (NH), and their spouses as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. At Pauline's request there will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held by the family at their discretion. In remembrance of Pauline, donations can be made to Adirondack Save a Stray if desired. The family would like to express their appreciation for the love and care extended to Pauline during her stay at Pleasant Valley Infirmary
