Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- On Monday, April 16, 2007, Patricia Edna Beattie Richardson left this earthly world to be with God. Patricia Richardson was born on Oct. 16, 1930, to Henry and Ruth Higgins Beattie of Rupert.

Patricia was a loving mother to Charles Richardson and his wife, Cynthia, of Bristol, Johanna Hanft and her husband, Martin, of Gilsum, N.H., Mary Watson of N.C., Barbara Kapitan and her husband, George, of Fortuna, Calif., and Laurie Richardson, of Petionville, Haiti. Patricia was also a dear sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Patricia worked for many years helping others face their challenges. She worked as a police dispatcher for Vermont State Police, as a guidance counselor secretary at Otter Valley Union High School in Brandon, and finally retired from the Vermont State Employment and Training Department.

Patricia had a special relationship with her niece, Connie McKeighan of Bennington. Connie helped her face her final challenges this past year and for this, Patricia and her family were thankful.

Patricia’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the staff of the Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center, Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, Bennington Health and Rehabilitation and Hospice of Bennington County.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
