Obituary Condolences

Patricia Murphy Heingartner MANCHESTER Patricia Murphy Heingartner, 81, formerly of Flintlock Road in Manchester, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at Equinox Terrace in Manchester Center after a long illness with Alzheimer's Disease. She was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary Agnes Murphy and was born in Westfield, N.J. She was a graduate of Dominican Academy and The Assizium School in New York City. As a young woman Pat became interested in antiques and collectibles, which she purchased for her homes in Garden City and Upper Brookville, N.Y., and Bondville and Manchester, Vt. Following the family move to Vermont in 1981, Pat had several locations in Southern Vermont where she displayed and sold her many antiques. She was an avid skier and won several category races in her class. She was also an enthusiastic tennis player and hiker. Pat also loved horses. She learned as a young person to ride in Central Park and then much later in Vermont she had an opportunity to assist in the training of young handicapped children to ride at Three Meadows Riders in Peru, Vermont. Pat's profound love for her family and for those fortunate enough to have been in her life through the years, was evident to all that knew her. In Pat's room was an etched work of color and design that reads: "Be thankful for life, it gives us a chance to love, to work, to play, to explore, to pray, and to look up at the stars". Indeed, it does reflect her in every way. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be sorely missed. Pat is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years Walter E. Heingartner of Manchester Center, her daughters Carie A. Dinnan and her husband Chris of Wallingford, Vermont, Beth M. O'Connor and her husband John of Ipswich, Mass., and Katrina S. Weaver of Occidental, Calif., her sons Walter C. Heingartner, III (Chuck) of Stowe, Vt., Keith J. Heingartner of Manchester Center, Vt., and Mark C. Heingartner of Long Beach, N.Y., her sister Murphy Gerber and her husband Marc of Laguna Beach, Calif., eleven beloved grandchildren and several nieces and nephews whom she cherished. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Eucharistic Mass will be celebrated in her honor on Saturday March 17, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Christ Our Savior, St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Manchester.
