Patricia M. Hodgeman

1938-2009 BENNINGTON Mrs. Patricia M. Hodgeman, 71, a former resident of School Street in Bennington died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.

She was born in Pittsfield, MA September 13, 1938, daughter of the late Daniel and Violet Jelley Stevens. Patricia received her education in Weston, Vt. and was a graduate of Zion Bible Institute.

She married Byron S. "Judd" Hodgeman Jr. on September 27, 1958 in East Providence, R.I.

Most recently Patricia was employed in the Billing Department at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. In earlier years she was employed at the Mount Anthony Union High School as a Para educator. She was a Licensed Minister for 40 years, and a missionary to the Navajo Indians in New Mexico, Patricia's church was her life. She was a member of the Green Mountain Christian Center in Bennington, VT where she taught Bible studies and sang on their worship team

Survivors include her husband, Byron S. "Judd" Hodgeman Jr., of Bennington; her children and their spouses, Michelle and Edward Jones of Petersburgh, N.Y., Dan and Brenda Hodgeman of Petersburgh, N.Y., Jody and Jim Michaels of Lancaster, N.H., Cindy and Warren Cook of Stevenson, Wash. and Paul and Lori Hodgeman of Pownal, Vt.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Alexander of Orlando, Fla.; and five nieces.

She was predeceased by a son, Byron Sykes Hodgeman III; and a grandson, Kyle Jones.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Green Mountain Christian Center on Main St. in Bennington on Wednesday Dec. 16, 2009 at noon.

Friends may call at the Green Mountain Christian Center on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

The burial will take place in the family lot in the Jelley Cemetery in Petersburgh, N.Y.
